For 34 years, MICRORISC has proven that even a small Czech company can influence global trends, deliver revolutionary innovations, and contribute to a better world. The visit took place as part of the President's regional tour of the Hradec Králové Region, accompanied by Governor Petr Koleta.
From Jičín to the world: Products and technologies with IQ in their DNA and name
The story of MICRORISC began in 1991, when three electrical engineering students from the Czech Technical University (ČVUT) came together with a vision. Their first product, the IQALARM, launched in 1992, was already different – smarter, safer, and protected by a rolling code. More than two decades of research and development have since led to IQRF®, a globally recognized standard for reliable wireless mesh networks and IoT applications.
Today, MICRORISC connects the world of science with industrial practice. The "IQ" in our products and technologies has stood for intelligence and innovation for over 30 years. With more than 50 patents granted in the Czech Republic, the EU, the US, China, and Japan, MICRORISC’s innovation footprint is truly global.
A presidential visit to the center of innovation
During the visit, the President toured MICRORISC’s modern automated production line and learned about the company’s unique concept of product testing that ensures exceptional quality and productivity. The delegation was also introduced to partner projects – from medical applications and lighting control to specialized sensors and intelligent automation systems.
IQRF® – A Czech contribution to the global IoT
IQRF is now an open global standard for wireless mesh networks, widely used in IoT – from public lighting and building automation to energy management and environmental monitoring in healthcare. IQRF® products can be found from San Francisco to the Kingdom of Tonga in the South Pacific.

Science, education, and society
MICRORISC collaborates with universities in the Czech Republic and abroad, regularly participates in scientific conferences, publishes, and presents research. Since 2011, the company has also organized the "Best Student" competition for outstanding high school students and continues to support education and regional philanthropy wherever it makes a meaningful impact.

A modern, specialized production line
In 2024, MICRORISC made significant investments into a new SMT production line and related automation for manufacturing and logistics. These investments were co-funded by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the EU within the "Country for the Future" program. Modernization continues, with a fully automated programming and testing station for wireless transceivers scheduled to go live by the end of the year.
